The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 is a racing machine based on the production SLS AMG, which debuted in September 2009. Its long nose, bobtail body design features gull-wing doors and a front mounted 6.2-liter V8 engine. This particular race car was entered into the 2012 Japan Super Taikyu Series of endurance races by the Petronas Syntium Racing Team.

The team impressively took five consecutive wins at the start of the season on its way to claiming the championship title. The TA-06 serves as the advanced chassis platform for this particular kit. The TA-06 has a dual drive train, advanced suspension geometry and several setting options that will enable the driver to achieve higher performance both on and off the track.

The motor and battery are mounted along the center-line of the chassis with the radio gear positioned on either side. The dual drive system features belt driven front and gear driven rear wheels. The gear driven wheels offer sharp response and improved acceleration. The battery pack can be accessed from the underside of the chassis for convenience.

The refined inboard front suspension (IFS) setup can also be changed to a standard outboard setup thanks to the included damper stay components. Front and rear gearboxes are equipped with newly-designed gear diff units to efficiently transmit motor power and offer superb traction and acceleration.
