This module uses the TCS3200D chip, which is the upgrade version of TCS230D. TCS3200 is a static object color detect chip, it can output different frequencies based on different colors, and then the MCU can read the RGB color via frequency collection and conversion. 
 
All the IO pins of this module are designed on board, which can control LED light by IO control. You can also use a jumper to make a short connection directly from control pins to GND, so the LED will be constantly lit. The working voltage is 3-5V, frequency output range from 10-12KHZ, which is around 50% empty.
