NACA inlets, or NACA scoops were originally developed by the U.S. National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), the precursor to NASA, in 1945. They were designed to allow air to flow into an internal duct, often for cooling purposes, with minimal disturbance to the flow. The design was originally called a "submerged inlet", since it consists of a shallow ramp with curved walls recessed into the exposed surface of a streamlined body, such as an aircraft. It is especially favored in racing car design.

True NACA ducts are designed to be flush mounted, though can mount externally if you so choose. Simply install with some glue or even strong double side tape. They are vacuum molded from 0.5mm clear plastic that can be painted to match your application.
